Toby Keith’s Son, Stelen Covel, Is Expecting His First Child With Wife Haley
Toby Keith’s son, Stelen, and his wife, Haley, just had a super fun baby shower to celebrate their first baby on the way.
Stelen and Haley tied the knot in a beautiful wedding near Las Vegas in 2021. Before the wedding, Toby found out he had stomach cancer and was really worried he might not be there, especially since he promised to walk Haley down the aisle.
“…my son was getting married, and his wife didn’t have a father,” Toby recalled in an interview with Audacy. “And she asked my son, Stelen, if I’d walk her down the aisle. I said ‘sure.’ And now I’m a month away from that, and I’m thinking ‘I might not even make it that far.’ I didn’t know, you know? When you get diagnosed, you just freak.”
But Toby kept his promise and walked Haley down the aisle. It’s a memory she holds dear now that Toby is no longer with us, having passed away on February 5, 2024.
“Toby was larger than life at home and on stage,” she wrote in a tribute to her father-in-law after his passing. “It’s a complete honor to be his daughter-in-law. He took me in as his own and I’ll forever be grateful for that. He touched the lives of so many and I’m blessed to be one of those.”
Toby had three kids with his wife, Tricia, and a bunch of grandkids. His daughter, Krystal, mentioned that he was a loving grandfather, and it’s really tough to find a picture where he isn’t holding one of our little ones.
Pretty soon, the Covel family will have another baby to cuddle, since Stelen and Haley are going to be parents for the first time. They shared their pregnancy news on February 13. In their announcement picture, Stelen was wearing a Toby Keith t-shirt.
“Baby Covel coming this summer,” they shared.
Stelen And Haley Covel Celebrate With Loved Ones At Beautiful Baby Shower
As Baby Covel’s due date approaches, Stelen and Haley recently celebrated with their loved ones during a blissful baby shower. They shared several pictures from the gathering, which was decorated with flowers in vibrant summer colors.
Stelen and Haley have remained relatively low-key since announcing their pregnancy, and hadn’t publicly shared their baby’s gender. But now we know they’re expecting a baby girl!
Someone who attended the Covels’ baby shower shared a picture with the caption, “We can’t wait to meet you baby girl Covel.” Haley re-shared that image on her Instagram Story.
Glittery pink cowgirl-themed cookies were on display at the shower, and many of the decorations were in shades of pink or peach. Haley wore a beautiful red dress with a floral pattern and posed for pictures with Stelen, his sisters, and other party guests.
