Man Asks for Refund on Dog Food After Losing Both Pets in One Weekend, Receives Unexpected and Touching Reply from Company

“My sister and brother-in-law lost both of their dogs this past weekend. Shortly afterward, two 40-pound bags of food from Chewy that they had previously ordered showed up. My brother-in-law contacted the company, asking if he could return the food and get a refund, even if it meant covering the return shipping himself.”

His request was simple, but what Chewy did in response was nothing short of extraordinary.

Not only did Chewy assure them a full refund, but they went above and beyond in offering support during this difficult time.

“They were incredibly compassionate,” Laura continued. “They refunded the full amount to their credit card and suggested donating the unopened bags to a local animal shelter instead. On top of that, they asked for a photo of one of the dogs to include in their memorial tribute. And then, to our amazement, my sister and her husband received a gorgeous bouquet of flowers from Chewy. I wish everyone could hear this story—this company is truly amazing.”

Rather than just offering a refund, Chewy extended heartfelt sympathy and a touching gesture to honor the dogs and comfort the grieving family.

Unsurprisingly, Laura’s story quickly gained attention online, being shared more than 11,000 times in just a few days.
