Veteran Democratic strategist James Carville, who forecasted in February that Donald Trump’s administration would eventually collapse, now believes that it has already begun to unravel, as he anticipated.
In an appearance on The Dan Abrams Show, the 80-year-old Carville said, “It’s happening right now. We’re in the midst of it.”
He continued, “What I’ve publicly stated is that Democrats need to stay quiet and watch. This whole thing is falling apart.”

Carville, who managed Bill Clinton’s first campaign and helped the Democrats win the White House after 12 years of Republican rule, claims that the downfall of Trump’s administration can be traced back to his numerous executive orders, some of which clash with existing laws, and his plummeting approval ratings, exacerbated by the mass firing of government employees.
A month after making his initial prediction, Carville spoke with CNN following the leak of information regarding a military strike on Yemen. The leak came when high-ranking officials mistakenly invited The Atlantic editor-in-chief, Jeffrey Goldberg, into a conversation, leading Carville to revise his earlier statement.
The unintended disclosure of sensitive information raised concerns about national security protocols and the use of unsecured communication channels. The Senate Armed Services Committee subsequently called for an independent investigation.
Carville, commenting on the chaos within the Trump administration, quipped, “It’s before April Fool’s Day — which Trump should make a national holiday because it so perfectly represents them.”
He went on, “When you look at the markets, the mess surrounding Signal-gate, and everything else falling apart around us, it’s clear this administration is collapsing.”
Carville further emphasized, “Let’s just call it what it is – it’s collapsing. I’ll meet you halfway and say it’s already happening.”

In an interview with Fox News, he stated that Democrats need not aggressively challenge the Trump administration because, according to him, the collapse is already in progress.
Carville added, “Poll numbers are dropping, and the collapse is well underway. Just wait until they introduce the Medicaid cuts and the $4.5 trillion tax breaks for the wealthy. The ball is already in motion; we don’t need to force it.”
