Photo of little girl ‘sinking into the ground’ leaves people baffled

A dad decided to share a “strange” picture of his daughter on Reddit without realizing it would go viral.

The photo was actually snapped a few years ago by his wife, and he stumbled upon it while browsing through his device’s pictures.

In the image, it looks like the little girl is trapped in concrete or vanishing into the pavement.

His post, titled “My daughter, where’s the rest of her?! Ohh I see, do you?” sparked a lot of excitement online, resulting in thousands of comments as people tried to figure out the optical illusion.

One person humorously remarked, “I’ve been looking at this for ages and I think she’s half buried,” while others chimed in, comparing it to a “teleporter glitch” or calling it “next-level grounding.”

“This one’s genuinely baffling even when you zoom in,” someone else commented.

“You took ‘grounding your kids’ to a whole other level,” another person added.

Those who figured out the mystery of the photo mentioned that it took them a while to grasp what was going on.

“One reason this is so amazing is that the title hints there’s more to her than meets the eye, making us feel like she should be blending in instead of having part of her body totally hidden,” a person said.

Actually, the girl’s legs are behind a wall, but the wall’s design tricks our eyes into thinking she’s part of the driveway, which creates a really neat illusion.

The girl’s dad checked out all the comments on his post and thought it would be a good idea to clear things up for everyone on Reddit. He explained, “The grass pavement is at wall eight, and the road where my daughter is standing is about 1 meter lower than the grass pavement where she has her arm resting.”

A lot of people found the photo super confusing and even said it was the “most confusing perspective I’ve ever seen!”
