Ashley McBryde Celebrates 3 Years Of Sobriety, “Gratitude Is The Guiding Light Today”

Ashley McBryde Has Reached 3 Years Into Her Sobriety Journey.

Ashley McBryde is celebrating a significant personal milestone.

The country music star has been very candid with her fans about her path to sobriety. Earlier this year, McBryde revealed that she had hit 1,000 days without consuming alcohol.

Now, in her most recent social media update, the singer of “Lights On In The Kitchen” announced that she has officially completed three years of sobriety.

McBryde shared this thrilling news with a collection of photos of her hiking with friends and exploring stunning waterfalls. She also posted images of herself holding a sobriety coin that says “three years sober.”

In the caption of her post, she opened up about the effort it took to reach this milestone in her journey. She reflected on the strength and support that guided her to this point.

“Today marks 3 years. Since my last drink. My last time being ‘that guy’ in my social and professional circles. The last panicked phone call for help. The final slip-up that led to the intervention from those who care about me and the change in me that allowed me to say ‘that’s enough.’ The details are known by those who deserve to hear such painful truths. Gratitude is the guiding light today. Grief is okay.”

McBryde mentioned that she finally feels like her true self and appreciates the person she has become.

She shared some encouraging words for those who might be facing similar challenges, reminding them that they are not alone and that healing is achievable.

“A part of me had to fade away so I could truly be myself. I have love for that part and for every other version of me that had to exist for me to be here by this waterfall today. I’m grateful for the chance to stand here. Celebrating by connecting with Mother Earth was exactly the kind of celebration I needed. If you’re having a tough time, don’t hesitate to reach out. You’re not alone, and you don’t have to be. You’ll be surprised at how many of us are out there. I love you, keep pushing forward.”

Regarding The Singer’s Choice To Quit Drinking.

Ashley McBryde made the decision to stop drinking in June 2022. However, she only revealed her choice to quit alcohol publicly after reaching a year of sobriety.

In a 2023 interview with PEOPLE, she explained why she thought it was necessary to keep her sobriety private for some time.

“People are just going to wait for you to mess up, and that’s really frustrating. I did this for myself. It wasn’t for social media.”

At one point, McBryde realized that her excessive drinking was causing more harm than good.

She recalls too many instances where it prevented her from truly enjoying her life. That’s when she chose to step away from alcohol and concentrate on becoming a better version of herself.

“Perhaps being the ‘whiskey-drinking badass’ means understanding when to put it down, realizing when it’s becoming too expensive,” she stated. “This has become too much of a price to pay, and I refuse to exchange this — my passion, my work — for anything else.”

Way to go, Ashley McBryde, on reaching three years of sobriety!
