The discussion surrounding the right of women to breastfeed their children in public is not a recent phenomenon; it has been ongoing for some time. Currently, a new voice has emerged, eager to share her perspective.

This young mother has expressed her views, which have sparked considerable controversy among some individuals. Continue reading to learn more about her experience.

Those who are nursing understand that a baby is indifferent to their surroundings or the time of day when hunger strikes. While some mothers may feel uncomfortable breastfeeding in public, this young mother embraced the opportunity to advocate passionately for the acceptance of public breastfeeding.

Trinati actively breastfeeds her 17-month-old daughter, making it a priority to do so regardless of her location, which often results in her nursing in public settings.

While she is comfortable with this practice, it does not always sit well with those around her, leading to disapproving glances. On occasion, store employees have even suggested that she breastfeed in broom closets, believing it would provide her with more privacy. However, she finds such spaces unsuitable for feeding her child. In response to these challenges, Trinati took a stand by having her son photograph her while she breastfed her daughter at Costco. In an interview, she expressed, “I never hesitate to meet my children’s needs based on our environment.”

In addition to facing scrutiny from strangers, Trinati also encounters inquiries from friends and family, who often ask, “How long will you continue doing that?” Her consistent reply is, “As long as she needs me to!” This is typically followed by awkward jokes suggesting she might still be breastfeeding her daughter when she starts kindergarten.

Frustrated by the sexualization of her breastfeeding, Trinati remarked in an interview, “Really? Have you SEEN breastfeeding breasts? My nipples are far from resembling anything someone might fantasize about! Ha!”

She further stated, “At this point, they are essentially udders. Get over it! I’m not trying to attract anyone with these! They have long ceased to be a sexual aspect of my body; they are now solely for my child’s nourishment, both physically and emotionally.”

Trinati aims to raise awareness that breastfeeding is a natural act of nurturing a child and should not be viewed through a sexual lens.

Sure! Here’s a rewritten version of the piece that keeps the original intent and message, but makes the flow a bit smoother and more engaging:

“I don’t expect all men—or anyone who’s never breastfed—to understand the endurance it takes to deal with nipple-pinching or the full-on gymnastics that come with breastfeeding,” she shared. “I’ve gotten some odd stares and awkward laughs when people see my 1.5-year-old standing on my lap while nursing… sometimes even balancing on one leg!”

In an effort to normalize breastfeeding in public, she decided to capture a photo of herself nursing her toddler and share it online to make a statement.

“I had my son snap that picture of us in Costco because I never want to forget—and I want my daughter to see one day—the lengths mothers go to in order to care for their children, no matter the setting,” she explained.

She captioned the Instagram post:
“My baby’s needs come far before anyone else’s discomfort or judgment about this sometimes-public act of nourishing and comforting my kids.”

For her, it’s about more than just feeding—it’s about building trust.

“Trust is the foundation of healthy relationships, and it begins with the care we receive in childhood,” she added. “Breastfeeding is one of the ways I show my children that they can rely on me. And for that reason, I’ll never feel shame about doing it—wherever we are.”

While public breastfeeding continues to spark debate, she stands firm in her belief: a mother’s care should never be considered inappropriate.
