Missing 6-year-old girl found buried in backyard

When a kid goes missing, the community usually comes together to help find them and bring them back to their worried family. Whenever we hear stories like this, we always wish for a happy ending where the family is reunited or at least something good happens.

Sometimes, there are mysteries that remain unsolved, and they stick in people’s minds for a long time. One example is the case of Madeleine McCann. Even many years later, people still think about her, but no one knows what really happened. Her family continues to hold on to hope that she will be found someday.

Then there are those stories that end with a tragic ending. The stories where the child is found, but they are not alive. This, unfortunately, is one of those stories. Keep reading to know more of the details about Kennedy Kean Shroer.

Cases involving missing children are really tough and heartbreaking. The police discovered the remains of Kennedy Jean Schroer in the backyard of her adoptive parents’ home, and they believe she may have been gone for four years.

In 2019, Kennedy Jean Shroer and her two sisters were adopted by a different family after their biological mother lost custody of them. Their mother believed that her daughters would have a brighter future with their new adoptive family in Kansas, USA.

On September 11, 2024, something tragic was discovered. Kennedy Jean Shroer was found buried in the garden of her adoptive family’s house. DNA tests showed that the remains were indeed those of young Kennedy. The police believe she may have died back in November 2020, when she was just six years old.

The body has decomposed a lot, so they haven’t figured out how she died yet. The police are looking into it more, but so far, they haven’t arrested anyone as a suspect.

“While we understand the desire to hold people accountable, we need to get this right, not just fast.”

Kennedy Jean Shroer’s birth mother, who used to be called Natalie Garcia before her adoptive parents renamed her, is heartbroken. She is currently trying to get back custody of her two other daughters, who are still living with the family that adopted them.

“I want them to get the therapy and love they need from their real family, where they belong,” says the mother, Christa Helm, to KSN.

The Rose Hill Police Department stated in a press release, “We know that a lot of people might be puzzled about why there haven’t been any arrests in this case.” They went on to explain further.

The police said, “We know that a lot of people might be puzzled about why no one has been arrested in this situation, and that’s totally reasonable. We want to emphasize that we have one opportunity to collect all the information we can to figure out what happened to this child and share her story.”
