Marriage is a long-term promise that often takes a lot of effort. When two independent individuals become a married couple, they might experience some conflicts as they navigate each other’s personal space. This challenge is especially noticeable in Hollywood, where we often hear about celebrity couples splitting up and getting divorced. However, not all Hollywood marriages are fake or in trouble. There are a few couples who have managed to stay together despite their fame and wealth.
One amazing example is the love story of actors Michael J. Fox and Tracy Pollan. Michael J. Fox is well-known for his role as the witty teenager Alex P. Keaton on the popular show “Family Ties.” Michael and Tracy first met on the set of the show when Tracy was cast as Alex’s new girlfriend, Ellen Reed. Their on-screen chemistry quickly turned into a real-life romance. Even though “Family Ties” ended after seven seasons, Michael and Tracy’s relationship has continued to thrive for 19 years, filled with both challenges and joyful moments.
As the couple marks their 36th wedding anniversary, they reflect on everything that has kept them together over the years, including Michael’s battle with Parkinson’s disease, their four children, and, most importantly, their love for each other.
Michael was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease when he was in his late twenties. Not long after that, he and his wife got married and welcomed their first of four kids.
Tracey always imagined being right by Michael’s side, and she became his number one fan. Together, they do their best to handle Michael’s health challenges while also working hard to gather money for research to find a cure for his illness.
Even though Michael isn’t as energetic as he once was, he still takes part in some film projects occasionally, lending his voice to certain movie characters and joining in on documentaries.
Michael and Tracy have totally different backgrounds, but they both see the world in a positive way. They are both middle children and have a great sense of humor that makes them fun to be around.
The best part is that they are best friends and soul mates. When they talked about their anniversary, Tracy mentioned:
Their loving family remains as strong as ever through all the storms they’ve faced together. And Tracy says they never take anything for granted.
Michael and Tracy know that life can change unexpectedly, so they are trying hard every day to make the most of it and appreciate the time they have here on Earth.
