Mel Gibson proposed a ‘crazy’ conspiracy theory about the LA wildfires after his home was destroyed, which left many baffled

Actor Mel Gibson has shared his own thoughts about the wildfires in Los Angeles, and many people are confused by what he said.

The star of Mad Max lost his £12 million home in Malibu to the fires, which made him react in a way that caused some controversy.

“I can come up with all sorts of terrible theories in my mind – conspiracy theories and more – but it just seemed a bit too convenient that there was no water available.

“And the wind was just right, plus there are people who are ready and willing to start fires,” he mentioned, suggesting that the destruction might have been planned to clear out homes on valuable land.

After hearing that someone was arrested for starting one of the fires, the actor wondered if that person was acting alone or if they might have been “commissioned” to do what they did.

It looks like some of the people they’re catching are really well prepared.

“I heard they’ve been messing around with the water situation, letting reserves go for different reasons,” Gibson mentioned in a recent chat with Fox News’ Laura Ingraham on The Ingraham Angle.

“They’ve been at it for a while now. California has a bunch of issues that are really confusing when you think about why they make certain choices.”

In situations like this, you start to wonder if it’s all planned out on purpose.

It’s a wild thought, but you can’t help but think about whether there’s a reason behind it. What could that reason be? What are they trying to achieve? Do they want everything to be empty? I really can’t say, he continued.

“Still, it looks like these people they’re catching are pretty prepared.”

His claims sparked controversy among people.

Somebody tweeted, “Conspiracy theories are the only thing keeping him relevant.” Another person chimed in, “While folks in California are battling wildfires, these two are just making things worse.” A third user expressed, “It’s disgraceful.”

Ingraham responded to Gibson’s remarks, mentioning that there have been discussions about building more homes in the fire-affected regions. The famous actor likened the situation to “old cattle barons pushing people off their land.”
