One of the biggest unsolved mysteries that has fascinated people worldwide for many years is the murder of JonBenet Ramsey. This tragic event took place in Boulder, Colorado, when she was discovered dead in the basement of her family home on Christmas morning in 1996.
Despite numerous investigations, this mystery has never been officially solved, but public interest has remained incredibly high. Over the years, many potential suspects have emerged, including family members and others who were not related.
Among those scrutinized were JonBenet’s parents, John and Patsy Ramsey. Her older brother, Burke, who was just nine years old at the time, was also considered a suspect.
Other individuals who were looked at as possible suspects included Gary Olivia, a known pedophile, and John Mark Karr, a former teacher. He later confessed to the crime but admitted that his confession was false, and he was never charged.
Recently, JonBenet’s father, John Ramsey, made a shocking statement about her murder. He mentioned that another 12-year-old girl in Boulder was attacked by a masked intruder just nine months after JonBenet’s death. Reports indicate that the intruder raped the girl and escaped when her mother intervened.
In an interview with People, John stated: “To me, it could easily have been the same person.” He added, “The police blew it off as, ‘No, it’s not the same.’”
On November 25, Netflix launched the series, ‘Cold Case: Who Killed JonBenét Ramsey?’. His comments were made before that release.
John believes that the intense focus on him distorted the truth. They have consistently claimed their innocence, and no charges were ever filed against them. She died in 2006.
John is now calling on law enforcement to apply modern methods, hoping this will help uncover the truth. When discussing the case of a 12-year-old girl, he remarked: ‘I think the way the crime was carried out was exactly the same. I suspect the killer was in the house when we returned, waiting until we fell asleep.’
The 12-year-old victim lived just 2 miles away and attended the same dance class as JonBenet.
John stated: “They returned home, activated the burglar alarm, and the killer was already inside. A very similar approach, yet the police dismissed it. Even the father of the young girl said, ‘On a scale of one to 10, I rate the police minus five.’ They were just … incredibly ignorant. But yes, I believe it could very well be the same person.
