Jennifer Love Hewitt hits back at trolls

Jennifer Love Hewitt didn’t hold back when she responded to critics who called her “fake” after she shared a selfie on social media this month.

Reports say that the star of Ghost Whisperer appeared in an Instagram post from her hairstylist, Nikki Lee. Some people online quickly accused the actress of altering her looks.

This reaction followed Jennifer’s new hairstyle, where she cut her hair into a bob and dyed it a deep brown. Her stylist captioned the post, saying, “It was time to spice things up.”

As is common when a celebrity changes their look, fans of the 44-year-old actress flooded the comments. While many praised her new style, some tried to insult her by suggesting she had plastic surgery.

Some even said she looked “unrecognizable.” Instead of ignoring the negativity like many celebrities do, Love Hewitt chose to respond by sharing a series of photos that humorously suggested her new look was the result of surgery.

“So many people said I look different”, the actress wrote.

I look just like I always do—totally natural. I woke up like this, and filters don’t really change much about me.

Of course, the playful pictures showed several filters on Hewitt’s face. While they might be a bit over the top, the actress also encouraged everyone to be nice when they comment on others’ photos.

She wrapped up her post by saying, “Let people choose to be filtered or unfiltered. Be good. Be kind. Spread love.”

Earlier this year, Love Hewitt faced a lot of attention regarding her looks after she shared a photo to celebrate her 44th birthday.

In her post, she wrote, “I woke up at 4am and turned 44! I feel so grateful, blessed, and happy, but sometimes I worry about getting older. I’m a mom to three amazing kids, married to the most handsome and wonderful man, and I can’t wait to see what this year brings us.”

She added, “I sense magic in the air, and I love that feeling. Time to get to work… Thank you, Mom, for giving me life. I miss you so much. I’ll finish my work and then celebrate my birthday later. By the way, Atticus woke up way too early and sang happy birthday to me! It made my heart melt. Now, everyone, go have a fantastic day! It’s my birthday, so you have to! ❤️”

Many fans and followers left comments expressing their surprise at how different the former child star appeared.

“I saw this picture in an article and thought they made a mistake because I didn’t believe it was JLH, I didn’t even see a resemblance. I came to Instagram to double check and I am shocked,” one person wrote.

Why doesn’t she look like herself? I’m so confused,” another added.

“That’s not her,” a third claimed. “It can’t be.”

I think we all need to remember to be kind to others at all times. The world is filled with so much hate and destruction, and constant negativity online or in real life only makes things that much worse.
