The dad of Austin Metcalf, the teenager who was killed after being stabbed in the heart at a high school track meet, has made a heartfelt request.
Austin’s death was reported all over the world after the 17-year-old was attacked during a fight at a track and field championship at Kuykendall Stadium in Frisco, Texas on April 2.
An 18-year-old named Karmelo Anthony was taken into custody and charged with first-degree murder after the incident, which was said to have started because of a disagreement over seats in the stands.
Austin and Karmelo, who is from a different school, had apparently never met before this tragic event. Witnesses said that Austin approached Karmelo, who was sitting in the Frisco Memorial High School tent in the stands, and told him to move.
Austin’s twin brother, Hunter, who was also present, told WFAA: “And my brother stepped in and said, ‘You need to move. And he’s like, ‘Make me move.’”
It is claimed that Anthony then reached into his backpack and pulled out a knife. He went on to stab Austin in the chest.

Karmelo is under house arrest right now because he posted bond on April 14. He has an ankle monitor while he waits for his trial.
Recently, reports say that Austin’s dad, Jeffrey Metcalf, has officially complained about Centennial High School giving Anthony his diploma after Austin passed away.
Dominque Alexander, who speaks for Anthony, told the Daily Mail that a complaint has been made.
“Now you have a father filing a complaint to the TEA [Texas Education Agency],” he mentioned.

The person suspected of being the murderer will get his high school diploma, but according to the Mail, he probably won’t take part in any graduation ceremony or walk across the stage at Frisco Independent School District.
“We are making plans for an early graduation. They have agreed to let him graduate. They were actually trying to kick him out – no doubt about it,” Alexander mentioned last week.
Last month, Jeffrey Metcalf attended a press conference for his son’s alleged killer. Anthony’s family has said they intend to challenge their son’s murder charge, claiming he acted in self-defense when Austin attacked him.
Jeff was taken out of the press conference by the police and expressed that he thinks Anthony’s family missed a chance.
“They should have brought me up [to the front] and said, ‘We are really sorry. Our condolences.’ The only thing I would have said was, ‘Okay, can we pray together and show the world we’re united,'” he told the New York Post.
Rest in peace, Austin Metcalf.
