Family reject developers who build suburb around entire property – 10 years later, house’s value is astronomical

We’ve heard stories about people standing up to ‘the man’ before, but one family in Australia seems to be taking it to a whole new level by turning down every offer for their property.

According to reports, this family has said no to developers multiple times, even as those developers built a whole suburb on the land around them.

But the owners of the mansion, which looks like Windsor Castle, say they can’t put a price on their unique home. It’s said that the Australian property has a 650-foot long driveway and is surrounded by beautiful green gardens. Plus, it offers a stunning view of the Blue Mountains.

Developers are reportedly so eager to buy the land where the property is located that they’ve made several large offers.

And yet still the family say no…

According to reports, the majority of the adjacent parcels of land were sold in 2012, at which time the property in question was estimated to be valued at approximately $4.75 million.

However, a decade later, experts are suggesting that the home could potentially be valued at an astonishing $50 million!

Taylor Bredin, a real estate agent affiliated with Ray White Quakers Hill, informed 7News: “The reality is that most individuals sold their properties many years ago, while these owners have retained theirs. They deserve all the credit.

“Depending on the extent to which you advance the development plan, it would be feasible to develop anywhere from 40 to 50 properties on a site like this, and when subdivided, a 300 square metre lot could fetch a million dollars.”

Currently, the property is surrounded on all sides by neighboring residences that have been constructed right up to its boundary. Nevertheless, the family residing there has no intention of selling and expresses their enjoyment of living in a cul-de-sac.

Diane Zammit, 50, shared with Daily Mail Australia that the area was once characterized as “farmland interspersed with quaint red brick houses and cottages.”

“Each residence was distinct, and there was ample space – but that is no longer the case. It simply isn’t the same anymore,” she remarked.

Indeed! It certainly requires a significant amount of determination to reject an offer of $50 million! What are your thoughts on this family’s choice? We invite you to share your opinions in the comments section.
