We all have moments when we make decisions we later wish we hadn’t, do things that don’t make us feel good, and say things we want to take back.
Yet I’m willing to wager very few of us have regrets so large and visible as Ethan ‘ModBoy’ Bramble, a body fanatic from Australia who covered his body with over 200 tattoos.
Many people today enjoy expressing themselves through tattoos, especially with the trendy and unique designs that everyone seems to love. But there comes a time when most people won’t want to spend a lot of money on getting tattooed, and for a lot of them, that limit is much lower than what Ethan was ready to pay.
As per reports, Ethan was only 11 years old when he made the choice to get his first body modification, which was stretching his ears. After that, he went on to have all sorts of procedures, like splitting his tongue and even removing his belly button.
Ethan’s tattoos really catch people’s eyes, and it’s easy to see why since he’s inked from head to toe. He shared that he has spent about $60,000 AUD (which is around $39,000 USD) to achieve his unique look.
Now, though, he’s expressed some regret over his past choices.
“I guess you could say I regret some tattoos,” he told LadBibleTV’s No Filter series.
“Not just regret, I think there’s a difference between regret and wanting to be perceived differently.”
Ethan expressed that he feels anxious about the criticism he could encounter when doing everyday things, like dropping his little girl off at school.
The face is super important and can lead to a lot of problems for some people, but not for everyone. He said he wouldn’t want his daughter to deal with those issues until she’s older.
“I wish that I had not gone as hectic as I did on my face.”
In an attempt to clean up his image, Ethan’s been undergoing painful laser surgery treatment in a bid to reverse some of the ink he got when he was younger.
He explained: “I’ve been getting laser [surgery], or have been, for pretty much 12 months… We do it in sections, but I’ve probably gone over the full thing six or seven times.
I began to take action because of the anxiety I was feeling. Mental health can be tricky to understand, but I believe a big part of my anxiety came from having so many tattoos on my face.
I feel good about how I look right now, but I’m also excited about my mindset for the next couple of years. I know that my face tattoos will fade away more and more. It’s like I’m getting ready for a fresh start!
