The Metropolitan Police Traveled to Manchester to Apprehend the Singer

Reports have emerged that Chris Brown was taken into custody at a luxury hotel following an altercation at a nightclub in London.

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police journeyed to Manchester and arrested the American artist in the early hours of May 15 at The Lowry Hotel.

The ‘Beautiful People’ singer reportedly arrived at Manchester Airport the previous afternoon via private jet. Upon learning of his presence in the UK, Met officers proceeded to make the arrest.

Brown is scheduled to kick off the UK portion of his Breezy Bowl XX European tour in Manchester in about a month.

The incident in question dates back to 2023, with Brown being detained on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. He is accused of assaulting producer Abe Diaw at Tape nightclub, located in Mayfair, London.

Diaw has previously claimed that Brown attacked him without provocation during one of Tape’s Dirty Martini club nights.

In a statement to the LADbible Group, the Metropolitan Police confirmed: “A 36-year-old man was arrested at a hotel in Manchester shortly after 2:00 a.m. on Thursday, 15 May on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. He remains in custody. The arrest is connected to an incident at a venue in Hanover Square on 19 February 2023. The investigation is being conducted by detectives from the Central West Area Basic Command Unit.”

At the time of the alleged assault, Brown was on a global tour and reportedly celebrating the UK dates of his Under the Influence shows at the fashionable London nightclub.
