Beautiful Moment for Depressed Dog Who Actually Found Closure Saying a Final Goodbye at the Funeral

Dogs are loyal creatures who are often referred to as a man’s best friend.  These faithful animals have often been found lying alongside lost children who were reported missing.

Sadie is a thirteen-year-old mixed breed, a cross between a border collie, dalmatian, and shepherd, who was adopted by the Beaulieu family at the age of eight weeks.

The father, unfortunately, passed away unexpectedly, which appeared to deeply affect her. Julia Beaulieu recounts that when the emergency personnel ceased their efforts to resuscitate her husband, their dog lay down next to him and gently nudged his hand with her nose.

Julia was finding it difficult to manage the unexpected death of her husband, and it appeared that Sadie was similarly affected. The dog would gaze out the window, anticipating her owner’s return home as she always had.

Sadie had lost ten pounds due to her inability to eat for nearly ten days. Julia made the decision to bring Sadie to her husband’s memorial service, wishing for her to have the opportunity to say farewell in person. As Sadie approached the casket alongside Julia, she stood on her hind legs and looked inside.

The dog had a puzzled look on her face, and she stayed by Julia’s side the entire time.

Jeremy May of Elements Cremation, who coordinated the memorial service, emphasized that pets are integral members of the family and encouraged more individuals to include their beloved animals in such ceremonies. A photograph was shared to illustrate the profound connection between humans and dogs.

“This image has profoundly affected us at Elements Cremation, Pre-planning & Burial, and both we and the family wish to share it with you. The photograph captures a poignant moment involving a man, his wife, and their cherished companion. Following the sudden passing of her husband due to a heart attack, she sought to see him one final time to bid farewell. In the aftermath of his death, she exhibited signs of depression, lost her appetite, and awaited his return home each day. The wife held onto hope.”

Upon their return from the memorial service, Sadie entered her home and had her first meal. It seems that the dog found the closure she required by bidding farewell during the service.
