A Woman Who Became A “Vampire” By Covering Entire Body In Tattoos Issues Warning

A strong message has been delivered to people copying her by the woman who has the Guinness World Record for the most body modifications.

Known as the “real-life vampire” due to her unusual appearance, Maria José Cristerna has been working on her large collection of tattoos for the majority of her life. She had her first tattoo at the age of 14.

In 2022, a Mexican woman made history by having 50 physical changes, earning her the title of the most altered woman in the Guinness World Records.

Some of Cristerna’s unique modifications include implants in her arms and forehead, lots of piercings, a split tongue, and an incredible array of tattoos that cover nearly her entire body, even her eyeballs!

Speaking to Guinness World Records, Cristerna admitted: “In the beginning, my dad didn’t agree with the idea. But after that, he took me to the tattoo studio to get my very first tattoo.”

She emphasized her deep connection to art, stating: “Art runs through my veins. Since I was a little kid, I loved art, and now I can express it through my body.”

She attributes her changes to an oppressive and abusive ten-year marriage, seeking to advocate for other women who have experienced comparable physical, mental, and emotional abuse. “The only way to escape from violence and abuse is by loving yourself. We came to this world to be happy,” she asserted.

Her physical changes represent courage, strength, and freedom from her past.

Even though each change has its own significance, Cristerna discovered that getting implants in her arms and changing the color of her eyes was the most painful experience.

Celebrating her Guinness World Records title, Cristerna remains resolute in her pursuit of self-expression.

“You always can reach your goals. There are no limits. Nothing is impossible if you set your mind to it,” she declared.

She envisions covering 100 percent of her body in tattoos, proudly stating: “I don’t care what people think about me. I put myself in first place. I know who I am, and that is what is important.”

She did, however, issue a cautionary message to young people contemplating similar drastic alterations, as Cristerna said: “The advice I would give is that you have to think about it a lot as it is irreversible.”

She went on to say, “I really like how I look, but you have to realize that a lot of young people are really into tattoos and piercings these days. It’s become trendy, so there might come a time when we don’t want them anymore, and we might end up not liking them.”

“So you have to think about it very hard in order to love it and be able to defend it your whole life.”

The “Vampire Woman,” who recently talked about getting a new tattoo, is still adding more ink to her collection, even though she usually tells people to be super sure before getting one.

She shared a photo on Instagram of her latest tattoo session, where an artist is working on her back at a tattoo parlor. The caption with the picture reads, “Another stripe for my brother’s tiger Rene Camarena Laus Satanus.”
