It’s been a tough week for Donald Trump, and the internet is not helping.
The former president has always been the subject of jokes about his famous hair and his distinct orange complexion, but now he’s facing ridicule for something even stranger: his iPhone lock screen.
Of all the things that have gone viral this week, it’s Donald Trump’s phone lock screen. So, what does the former president have as his wallpaper? Here’s a hint: it’s very much on brand.
The man who many say is leading the free world has a picture of himself as his lock screen. Not a photo of his kids. Not a picture of his wife. Just Trump — in all his glory, dramatically pointing at the camera.
The moment became viral after observant social media users noticed the screen as Trump exited Air Force One on May 30. A Reuters photo captured the exact moment, and online detectives quickly zoomed in. The image? A solo Trump in his signature pose, a photo that dates back to 2019 during his first term.
Online reactions were swift — and harsh.

“Trump’s lock screen was seen on his phone last night—and it featured a picture of himself. Is that not one of the most self-centered, egotistical things you’ve ever witnessed??? Not a picture of his family, not his kids, but just him. Seriously…,” one user commented.
“Having a picture of himself on his lock screen is the most Trump-like thing ever,” another user remarked.
“Trump really has his own face as his phone’s screen saver. What a self-absorbed, pathetic loser. It says a lot,” a third user added.
The account Republicans Against Trump also chimed in:
“Donald Trump’s iPhone lock screen was seen over the weekend. Yep, it’s a picture of himself. Naturally.”
Elon Musk’s outrage
While the lock screen incident might seem trivial, it happens at a time when Trump is already under significant political scrutiny — and even his former tech ally Elon Musk is increasing the pressure.

Musk, who was once viewed as a strong behind-the-scenes supporter of Trump, criticized the president after Trump’s enormous $4 trillion debt limit bill was approved by the House.
“I can’t take it anymore, I’m really sorry,” Musk posted on June 3 on X.
“This huge, ridiculous, pork-laden spending bill from Congress is just disgusting. Shame on everyone who voted for it: you know you messed up. You really do.”
Musk didn’t hold back — he warned he would “fire” anyone who supported the bill and labeled it a national disgrace. For Trump, this was one of the strongest criticisms yet from a former ally with significant power.
In the midst of the uproar, the image of Trump proudly displaying his own face as his wallpaper has become the ultimate representation of the week’s madness — and perhaps even of the man himself.
As one user on X summed it up perfectly:
“The most on-brand thing that ever on-branded. Trump’s lock screen is, of course, a picture of Trump.”
