Three Teenage Girls Charged with Manslaughter After the Death of 75-Year-Old Man in North London

Three teenage girls have been charged with manslaughter following the death of a 75-year-old man in north London. The victim, identified as Fredi Rivero, believed to be of Bolivian nationality, was found injured on Seven Sisters Road in Islington at around 11:35 pm on Thursday. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he sadly passed away the following morning.

The three girls, aged 14, 16, and 17, cannot be named due to their age, and they are scheduled to appear at Highbury Magistrates Court on Monday.

A special post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the exact cause of Fredi Rivero’s death. His family is currently being supported by specialist officers.

In response to the tragic event, Superintendent Annmarie Cowley expressed her concerns, acknowledging that the death would cause significant distress to the local community in Holloway and the wider Islington area. She assured the public that a comprehensive investigation was underway and announced additional police patrols in the area to provide support to residents. “I urge local people to speak with these officers if you have any information or concerns,” she said.

Detective Chief Inspector Paul Waller, who is leading the investigation, emphasized that all possible lines of inquiry were being pursued. This includes forensic investigations and the examination of CCTV footage in the area. He also expressed gratitude for the public’s help and encouraged anyone who witnessed the incident to contact police.
