On January 20, 2025, during Donald Trump’s second inauguration, he was officially sworn in as the 47th President of the United States, and JD Vance took the oath as Vice President. While the ceremony was important in history, it was the loving glance from his wife, Usha Vance, who is also the Second Lady, that really stood out to everyone.

Sky News posted a heartfelt moment on Instagram. The video showed JD looking sharp in a well-fitted suit and a classic red tie, raising one hand while Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh was saying the oath.

Usha beamed with happiness and pride while standing next to JD in her stylish pink coat, holding their daughter close. The little girl was happily sucking her thumb.

JD Vance was officially sworn in as Vice President, and his wife Usha stood proudly next to him, holding their daughter. Donald Trump was also there, and the moment was shared on Instagram on January 20, 2025.

The atmosphere was filled with joy as Usha looked at JD with so much love, her big smile brightening the whole place while he took his oath to protect the Constitution. Their two sons were right there too, soaking in this important day with their mom and baby sister.

When JD finished his oath, the crowd erupted in cheers. In a sweet moment, he leaned over to kiss Usha. Afterward, he shared a warm handshake with the president, who congratulated him, and JD took a moment to show affection to his kids.

Sky News shared a video of this special occasion, mentioning how Usha held the Bible for JD as he made his promise to the nation.

The touching interaction between JD and Usha during the ceremony got a lot of love online. One viewer commented, “The way she looks at him is just so sweet!” while another said, “It’s not just pride; it’s the love in her eyes. It makes me miss my late wife even more.”

The special moment between JD and Usha at the inauguration is more than just a sweet scene; it shows the strong love and pride they have for each other and tells a bigger story about their amazing relationship.

Usha talked about this connection at the Republican National Convention in July 2024. She shared her thoughts on their relationship, expressed her admiration for JD, and explained why he would be an awesome Vice President.

She talked about the first time they met at Yale Law School when JD had just moved over from Ohio State. Sharing stories about how their friendship began, she said, “We became friends right away because, honestly, who wouldn’t want to be friends with JD? He was, and still is, the most fascinating person I’ve ever met.”

Usha also pointed out JD’s amazing life story — starting from a working-class upbringing and dealing with tough times in his childhood, to serving as a marine in Iraq, and finally making it to one of the top law schools in the country.

Usha described JD’s complex personality in a colorful way, saying he was “a tough marine […] but his idea of fun was playing with puppies and watching the movie ‘Babe.’”

What really stood out to her was his strong desire to build a close family, something he had dreamed about since he was a kid.

While Usha was raised in a loving middle-class family in San Diego with her immigrant parents from India and a sister, JD’s childhood in Middletown, Ohio, was very different.

Still, she believed their relationship showed the beauty of the American dream. “The fact that JD and I could meet, fall in love, and get married is a true reflection of this amazing country. It also says a lot about JD and who he is,” Usha explained.

She admired how JD embraced her culture, from adjusting to her vegetarian lifestyle to learning to cook Indian dishes with her mom.

“Before I knew it, he became a vital part of my family, someone I couldn’t imagine my life without,” Usha shared, noting that even with their different backgrounds, JD’s values and dreams stayed strong.

She went on to say, “The JD I knew back then is exactly the same JD you see now […] His goals in this new job are the same ones he has always had for our family — to keep everyone safe, to create chances, to improve our lives, and to tackle challenges with a positive attitude.”

Looking back on their experiences, Usha finished by saying, “I think it’s fair to say that neither JD nor I thought we would end up here. But it’s tough to picture a better example of the American Dream.”

Four months after Usha gave her emotional speech at the Republican National Convention, JD faced another important moment in his life — he realized he would be the Vice President of the United States.

On November 6, 2024, JD posted on X to express his thankfulness in a message that showed his humility and sincere appreciation for the important people who helped him along the way. “THANK YOU!” JD started, then he focused on Usha, the woman who had always been there for him.

JD expressed his heartfelt appreciation to his wonderful wife for making everything possible. He went on to thank Donald for the chance to serve the country and wrapped up his message by saying, “And to the American people, thank you for your trust. I will always fight for ALL of you.”

JD has always recognized how much his wife has influenced his life. His deep respect for Usha shines through not only in what he says publicly but also in his 2016 book, “Hillbilly Elegy.” In that book, JD called Usha his “Yale spirit guide.”

“She knew the questions I didn’t even think to ask, and she always pushed me to look for opportunities I didn’t know were out there,” JD wrote, showing how much he values Usha’s wisdom and constant support.

The loving bond between Usha and JD has also led them to share the adventure of being parents together.

Ewan Blaine Vance, their first son, was born on June 4, 2017. Besides him, the proud parents also have a daughter named Mirabel Rose Vance, who came into the world in December 2021.

JD and Usha have another son called Vivek Vance. On October 3, 2024, JD posted a sweet picture on Instagram showing Vivek having a great time on a fishing trip with his dad.

I had an awesome time fishing on the Kalamazoo River in Saugatuck this morning with my four-year-old son, Vivek. We love coming to Michigan, and we can’t wait to come back soon!

A caring dad of three wrote a heartfelt message with a series of photos that captured special moments of him fishing with his sons.
