Many of us can recall our very first day of school, and it often comes with a mix of anxiety and stress.
While not every kid feels this way, a lot of them do get nervous about leaving home and stepping into something new.
Axel, a young boy, was definitely feeling this way. He found it hard to think about being away from his mom, Amy Johnson, even though she kept telling him that everything would turn out fine.
Isabel Lane, the bus driver, quickly noticed that Axel looked a bit nervous as she arrived to pick him up.
“He was super happy when he first spotted me,” Isabel explained. “But as I started to slow down, I could see his expression change a little.”
Amy picked Axel up and set him down on a bus seat nearby. She wanted to take a picture of him to remember this moment.
But it turned out to be trickier than she thought. Just as Amy started to step away, Axel reached out for her. That’s when Isabel did something really nice: she reached back and held Axel’s hand to comfort him.
With that kind gesture, Amy got the perfect picture she was looking for. She posted it on Facebook, and it quickly became a favorite among her friends.
Even the local police department shared the photo, giving a shout-out to Isabel for being there for Amy when she needed support.
“I didn’t think it was such a big deal, honestly. I guess it’s just something I would do,” Isabel said later.
Isabel’s little act of kindness was just what Axel needed, according to reports. The next day, the 10-year-old was different; he stood at the bus stop by himself and greeted Isabel with a smile before getting on the bus.
Great job, Isabel! I bet Amy really appreciates what you did for her son.
Feel free to share this article to send good wishes to Axel and to give a shout-out to Isabel for her thoughtful gesture.
