A well-known saying is “Don’t judge a book by its cover,” but sometimes people forget this important lesson. When a parent doesn’t look like what you might expect, it can be really unfair to judge them just based on how they appear.

For example, when people saw his face tattoos, they assumed he was a bad dad. But then his wife shared something surprising that changed everyone’s mind. Keep reading to find out more…

Being yourself is super important, and tattoos can be a cool way to show who you are. Richard Huff, who is 51 years old, has over 240 tattoos and uses them to express himself.

He calls himself an ink addict and has a family with five kids and his wife. His wife often shares videos and photos of him with their children, but not everyone thinks they’re great.

Richard Huff, who is 51 years old, wants everyone to know that his family is just like any other family. However, he has mentioned that people online often make fun of him because of how he looks.

He explained how his tattoo journey began. “It turned into an addiction; I started with my legs and then moved up,” Huff said. Now, about 85% of his body is covered in tattoos, including the names of his kids and even his daughter’s lips.

“I hope to be completely covered in tattoos in the next four years,” Richard shared. “I’m not sure if it’s the pain or the art itself, but it’s really fascinating to be able to do this.”

Having so many tattoos does come with challenges. He mentioned that some kids at his children’s school find him intimidating. His daughter said, “They think he’s a bit scary, but I tell them, ‘No, my dad isn’t scary; he’s just really into tattoos.’”

Richard’s wife, Marita, also admitted that she was initially frightened by his appearance. “I did judge Richard based on how he looked at first, but once I got to know him, I realized he has a really big heart,” she said.

Marita often shares on social media how much Richard loves her in a way that no one else has before. She talks about all the good things about him and how he is a fantastic husband and father. Marita has three kids from previous relationships and has said that Richard is more than just a father figure to them; he has really stepped up for them.

Richard shared, “I participate in the PTA, I go to all my kids’ functions.”

Even though there’s a lot of information showing how kind Richard is, some people still have negative things to say about him. One person commented, “I don’t mind tattoos, but seriously, does he really need face tattoos like that?”

On the other hand, there are people who stand up for Richard. One supporter said, “Everyone keeps focusing on his face tattoo. He likes it, he got it, and he’s a great dad. Just let him be himself.”

Richard has also shared his thoughts on the criticism. He mentioned, “If someone is making those negative comments, it probably says more about them than it does about me.” He added, “We’re happy with what we’ve done. We’ve been together for six years, our kids are happy, and that’s what really matters to us.”

Richard adds that while at times negative comments can be a bit much, He still loves his family just as much, and they love him too. “My tattoos don’t frighten my kids; they don’t make me a bad dad. Instead, they help my children see life in a different way,” he explained.

Richard Huff appears to be an amazing dad who is loved by his wife and kids. He shows us that we shouldn’t judge people based on their appearance! Pass this message along to help others remember this important lesson.
