A bunch of teens danced around the gym floor, making it look like a scene from a fairy tale with their amazing performance. They combined the classic beauty of an old waltz with the deep feelings of a modern song.
The Weöres Sándor Primary School and Gymnasium in Hungary celebrated its ribbon-opening ceremony in a truly spectacular way, mixing tradition, elegance, and a touch of modern flair.
The highlight of the event was the stunning Viennese waltz that the students performed to Ed Sheeran’s romantic song “Perfect.”
This mix of classical dance and contemporary music created a memorable moment, showing how the school values both tradition and new ideas.
The students looked fantastic, with the girls in beautiful white dresses and the boys in sharp suits. They moved smoothly across the gym floor, dancing with skill and grace. Their perfectly timed movements and graceful turns matched the lyrics of “Perfect,” which Sheeran wrote for his wife Cherry Seaborn, whom he met back in school.
Steeped in tradition
The students didn’t just perform the Viennese waltz beautifully; the dance itself is special because it’s one of the oldest types of ballroom dancing and has a classic charm.
This dance started back in the days when kings and queens held fancy parties, making it a time when dancing was all about grace and tradition, which is really different from how we see dancing today.
When the students danced, the audience erupted in applause, and now people all over the internet are talking about how romantic the performance was.
“That was incredible! The effort these young ladies and gentlemen put into learning and choreographing this dance, plus their bravery to perform in front of family, friends, and classmates, is truly impressive.
It was done so well and beautifully. Plus, they’ve learned to dance a lovely waltz, which is something many of us can’t do,” commented one viewer on the YouTube video showcasing the students gliding across the dance floor.
One of the coolest things I’ve ever witnessed! Great job, everyone!! Another person said, “This song is so beautiful and fits perfectly with this awesome group of young people. I really loved it!!”
A different commenter shared how the video made them feel: “As a teacher, this made me tear up; great job, teens,” they wrote.
