These Stores Refuse To Stop Saying ‘Merry Christmas’

In the fall, a big discussion starts to get really intense and lasts until the end of the year. It usually focuses on whether to say ‘Merry Christmas’ or ‘Happy Holidays’ when greeting people.

Some stores think it’s not okay to say Merry Christmas because it might not be the most politically correct thing to do. While many people still celebrate Christmas, there are also those who decide not to.

Some stores still choose to say Merry Christmas instead of using the more politically correct phrase, Happy Holidays. The American Family Association (AFA) recognizes these stores for their support of Christmas.

  1. Hobby Lobby – This store is famous for its strong religious beliefs. They play Christmas music, close on Sundays, and greet customers with Merry Christmas.
  2. Belk – Similar to Hobby Lobby, Belk is all about spreading Christmas joy.
  3. Nordstrom – This fancy department store respects all holidays, including Thanksgiving and Christmas. They wait until after Thanksgiving to put up Christmas decorations and make sure their employees can enjoy the holiday season.
  4. Home Depot – This store also uses the word ‘Christmas,’ which is why the AFA considers them to be friendly towards Christmas.
  5. Walmart – This store gets a five-star rating from the AFA. They not only celebrate Christmas but also actively promote it.
  1. Macy’s – This store is famous for hosting the biggest Christmas parade in the country, and they proudly display the word Christmas on their storefront in New York City.
  2. JCPenney’s – Although they have faced some challenges in the past, they still make sure to celebrate Christmas when the holiday season arrives.
  3. Bass Pro Shops – These stores are really dedicated to the Duck Dynasty family and they also celebrate Christmas in a big way.
  4. Lowe’s – Just like Home Depot, they make sure their employees really get into the Christmas spirit during the holiday season.
