Rod Stewart announces the end of his big world tours

Rod Stewart is famous for his unique raspy voice, his big hair, and amazing live shows.

However, he has some disappointing news for his fans.

Rod Stewart, the iconic rock star behind popular songs like “Forever Young” and “Maggie May,” has announced that his next tour, called One Last Time, will be his last major world tour.

On Wednesday, November 20, the 79-year-old star posted about this heartfelt choice on Instagram to let his fans know.

In great shape and his iconic hair is still intact

“This is the end of big world tours for me,” he wrote. “But don’t worry, I’m not retiring. I still love what I do. It’s just time to play in smaller, more intimate venues.”

The rock star said that even though he is really healthy and still has his famous hair, he thinks it’s time to leave behind the busy life of traveling around the world for big concerts.

“I’m fit, have a full head of hair, and can run 100 meters in 18 seconds at the jolly old age of 79,” the rocker wrote on Instagram.

For fans who have been with Stewart through the years, this news seems like a big change. His One Last Time tour will be the last chance to see him perform in those massive arenas, where his amazing voice and rock star charm have entertained audiences for so long.

He’s ready for a change

Stewart is really famous for being super versatile in music, covering everything from rock to soul and R&B. He’s been around since the 70s with hits like “Do You Think I’m Sexy?” and even has a newer album called Swing Fever. He’s always changing and growing in the music scene.

Even though Stewart says this isn’t the end of his music career, it seems like he’s looking for something new.

“I want to do a Great American Songbook, Swing Fever tour in a couple of years — playing in smaller places for a more personal vibe,” he mentioned.

But the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer also kept things a little mysterious, joking, “But then again, I might not…” and signing off as “The Ambiguous Sir Rod Stewart.”

Rod Stewart is hitting the road for his One Last Time tour, which will travel through the U.S. and Canada. The tour will feature 20 new shows starting in March in Austin, Texas, and will finish in St. Louis in August. Even though he plans to take it easy after this, fans will have one last opportunity to see his amazing performances live.
