23-Yr-Old With Piercings And Face Tattoos Is Fuming That A Store Rejected Her Job Application

One of the difficulties that many young people face these days is finding a job. It seems as if everybody is complaining about the worker shortage but at the same time, many applications and resumes are ignored.

A TikTok enthusiast named Ash O’Brien spoke out about this recently when she found it difficult to get a job at T.J. Maxx. The 23-year-old shared her experience on TikTok, and she got people talking.

Ash has more than 97,000 followers on that video-sharing platform. She was really upset after being rejected for a job, and it sparked quite a discussion.

In her three-minute rant video, she started off by saying, “I applied to TJ Maxx a few weeks ago, and they turned me down. They didn’t even bother to call; they just sent me an automated email.”

Feeling frustrated about how they rejected her, she decided to go into the store and talk to a manager in person to find out why she didn’t get the job.

When she asked the manager for the reason behind her rejection, the manager explained that she lacked enough experience and that there were other candidates who had more experience. Ash suspected there was more to the situation.

She specifically wondered if her tattoos and piercings might have influenced their decision. The manager assured her that it wasn’t a factor at all.

Ash said, “I asked her if it was because of my tattoos, since a lot of places don’t like them.”

“She said that wasn’t the reason. I don’t feel like that’s true but whatever I’ll leave it at that.”

She started to think about whether she was the only one facing this kind of problem. She mentioned that she had noticed people in Europe with tattoos and piercings seem to find jobs much more easily than those in the United States.

Since being posted, some 8.5 million people have watched it and many have commented.

@ashxobrien I want to know who is also having a hard time finding a job right now! #jobs #jobmarket ♬ original sound – Ash🖤

Many commenters said that they love having tattoos as well. Others, however, pointed out the obvious that it was absolutely about her tattoos and nobody in a PR position would want that as the face of their company when dealing with the public.
