Tia Zakher, a 22-year-old TikTok influencer, has ignited widespread discussion online after revealing her unconventional skincare philosophy: she does absolutely nothing to her face. No cleansers, no serums, not even a splash of water.
Her “hands-off” routine quickly caught the attention of TikTok users, sparking both intrigue and debate. Some viewers accused Zakher of fabricating her skincare journey, while others expressed concern about the potential impact on her health.
Zakher’s experiment with doing nothing began on March 14, following years of unsuccessfully trying various acne treatments—from chemical peels and topical creams to microneedling and exfoliants.
Disheartened by the lack of improvement, she made the bold decision to completely stop interacting with her skin. That meant no touching, washing, or applying any products whatsoever.
Initially, Zakher kept her new approach under wraps from her rapidly growing TikTok following, which has now surpassed 125,000. However, by April, noticeable changes in her complexion—such as dryness, uneven color, and a rougher feel—led to a flurry of questions from viewers.

In response, Zakher uploaded a video detailing her extreme new routine, which quickly went viral and amassed over 10 million views.
She explained that her method is inspired by a natural skin recovery process she found online, often referred to as the “caveman” regimen. Zakher clarified that she did not coin the term herself.
As TikTok remains a space where users share everything from beauty hacks to health journeys, Zakher’s story has contributed to the ongoing conversation about trusting both your body and the internet with your skincare choices.
